Hair and make up for my school formal??!?

i am wearing a slinky strapless satin dark blue dress but i'm not sure how i should do my hair and make up. i'm asian but i dont want a black smoky eye and i dont think bronze shadow would look good with my dress. i want to wear false lashes but how how else can i do my make up? should my hair be up or down? curly or straight? plz help!!
