Proto SLG 09 basic for paintball tournaments?

i have a proto slg 09 basic blue and im going next week to tryout for total karnage kids in orlando fl......and all of them have luxes and egos and my gun shoots really fast and accurate i was wondering if my gun can keepp up with and ego or a luxe......and i been playing for two years and i dont have any paintball pants lol ther mad exspensive im going to buy me some elbow pads for diving but please help and tell me if my gun is good enough and any tips on how to play hard on speedball to make the team but remember its lik 13...14..and 15 year olds....THANKS AND PLEASE HELP??
